Whole Brown lentil is also known as Sabut Masoor ke dal In India. It is brown form outside and red from inside.This one of the yummiest lentil recipes I am posting today. I personally love to have this dal with rice. You can even have it with roti or bread. My mom use to serve it with hot rice and Bundi raita.
2 cups of boiled Sabut Masoor ke dal ( Whole brown lentil)
2 table spoon Oil or clarified butter
1/2 tea spoon Cumin seeds (jeera)
1 cup onion finely chopped
1 cup tomatoes finely chopped
1 table spoon ginger garlic paste
3 green chilies
1 tea spoon coriander powder
1/2 tea spoon garam masala powder
1/2 tea spoon red chilly powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
salt as per taste.
hot water as required 1 -2 cups.
Heat oil or clarified butter in a wide pan and then add 1/2 tea spoon of cumin seeds and let that splutter.
Now add onions and fry on low flame till its turned golden brown, add tomatoes and cook till its become soft and then add, green chilly, ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, coriander powder and salt as per taste and cook till the oil starts leaving the side **It will take 5–10 minutes**
now add the boiled lentil and hot water as required and bring it to a boil.
Cook till you get the correct consistency and then add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with some rice or bread of your choice.
