Masoor, the dark black-brown lentils and rice make a very good combination and with all the spices in it ends up in a tasty flavored pulao. I often make it when I have left over sabut masoor dal curry in the fridge as its really quick then.
Serves 2 to 3
1 cup rice.
2 to 3cups of left over masoor dal curry (can check the recipe in the link below)
1 medium size onion chopped.
1 table spoon chillies chopped.
Oil 2 table spoon
1/2 tea spoon cumin seed (jeera)
salt as per taste.
Pinch of garam masala powder
pinch of turmeric powder
chopped green coriander leaves for garnishing
Cook the rice at-least 3 to 4 hrs prior to making this recipe and let it cool down.
Heat some oil in a wide pan add cumin seed and let that splutter, now add onion and fry it till it becomes slightly golden brown.
Now add cooked rice and chopped green chillies,turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and fry it for a second and then add masoor dal curry and mix well. Adjust salt close the lid for 2 to 3 minutes and let it cook on low flame.
Garnish it with some coriander leaves and serve it hot.
